From legendary Ohio artists to emerging local bands, The 330 is a hyper-local music experience built for listeners who want to discover the sounds, stories, and creativity that make the region unique. Powered by The Summit FM, The 330 blends local music, regional culture, specialty programming, and community connection into a one-of-a-kind stream that proudly represents Northeast Ohio.
The 330 launched in 2016 as part of The Summit FM’s continuing mission to support independent music and serve the communities of Northeast Ohio. The Summit itself traces its roots back to 1955, when Akron Public Schools first launched WAPS-FM as an educational station. Over the decades, the station evolved into one of the region’s most respected independent public radio voices, known for adventurous music programming and strong community involvement.
Building on that legacy, The 330 was created to give regional artists a dedicated platform and to preserve the musical identity of the area’s iconic 330 region. Today, The 330 continues to champion local musicians while connecting listeners everywhere to the sound of Northeast Ohio.

The 330 at 3:30
Every weekday and Saturday at 3:30 p.m., The Summit FM shines a spotlight on Northeast Ohio’s vibrant local music scene with the “330 at 3:30,” a 30-minute feature dedicated to artists from across the greater Northeast Ohio region. The program celebrates the past, present, and future of homegrown music, giving listeners a chance to discover emerging talent alongside beloved regional favorites while reinforcing The Summit FM’s long-standing commitment to supporting local musicians and community culture.

FAQs:
* Music submissions will not be returned.
* Sending music to The Summit does not guarantee that it will be aired.
* Due to the large volume of submissions, we cannot provide feedback for every CD.
* Include contact information, the town you are from and a brief bio (a simple one-sheet is with some basic info is best)
* Please suggest 2 to 3 tracks that you would most like us to hear.
* Choose tracks that are FCC-friendly (no bad words) and that you think best represent your sound.
What we look for:
* Bands/artists that are fairly active in terms of touring and recording. We don’t necessarily expect local bands to be doing national tours, but we do like to know that you are playing out where people can see you and making records that our listeners can find.
* Good songwriting.
* Production quality that is on par with the national acts you hear on The Summit FM.
* Songs that are appropriate for our format. Llisten to the station – would your songs make sense in the mix, or would they sound completely out of left field compared to the other music we play?

Our Annual 330 Day Concert
The Summit FM’s annual “330 Day Concert” is a celebration of Northeast Ohio music and culture built around March 30 — a nod to the region’s iconic 330 area code. The event began after Akron, Canton, and Youngstown officially proclaimed March 30 as “330 Day” in recognition of The Summit FM and its local-music platform, The330.net.
Since launching the concert series in 2016, The Summit has used the event to spotlight regional artists, community pride, and Ohio’s musical legacy through free, all-ages performances featuring many of the area’s best-known musicians. Over the years, the concert has moved among notable Northeast Ohio venues, including Akron’s Goodyear Theater for the 6th annual concert in 2023, The Kent Stage in Kent for the 2024 event, Akron Civic Theatre for the 8th annual “Ohio’s Greatest Hits” edition in 2025, and the Robins Theatre in Warren for the expanded 9th annual celebration in 2026.
The concerts have grown from a simple local showcase into a regional cultural tradition that combines live music, community events, wellness programming, and tributes to Ohio legacy artists ranging from Devo and The Black Keys to Tracy Chapman and Michael Stanley.
